The following advertisement is designed to explain procedures to help support your efforts to complete Kindergarten enrollment in the most efficient manner possible. AHERA Annual Notice This notice informs you that Anderson County Schools complies with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA- EPA 40 CFR Part 763). AHERA requires school systems to inspect their buildings for asbestos containing building materials and to have a written asbestos management plan. An Asbestos Management Plan for the school district is available for review at the Central Office during normal business hours. Please contact me if you would like to view this Plan. A copy of the Plan is also available at each school. Advertisement for Business-Community Leaders The Anderson County Board of Education is accepting nominations for a business-community leader to serve on the Anderson County School’s Local Planning Committee, until December 2024. Notice Anderson County Schools will conduct a meeting of the Local Planning Committee on February 3, 2020 at the Anderson County Board of Education Office, 1160 Bypass North, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 at 5:30 p.m. Information Regarding Cancellation, Delays, and Early Dismissal Winter weather conditions sometimes prompt Anderson County Schools to alter routines or schedules in the district. All schedule changes due to inclement weather are posted on ACSchools.net as well as shared via Facebook , Twitter , and through the local media. School Resource Officers are vital assets to all Kentucky communities By Wayne D. Lewis, Ph.D., Kentucky Commissioner of Education New Accountability Model and School Ratings The Commissioner of Education, Dr. Wayne Lewis, released Kentucky Public Schools’ new accountability model and associated school and district performance data. Anderson County Schools Instructional Supervisor, Bobby Murphy, has created a slideshow with voice overlay explaining the new accountability model, schools ratings and scores. The new accountability model is rigorous and has distributed KY school performance along a star rating system with the majority of schools receiving a 3-star or less rating. Notice Anderson County Schools will improve student safety by closing a portion of Mustang Trail behind Anderson County Middle School during the school day. This recommendation was made by School Resource Officers after consultation with local first responder departments, and the Kentucky Center for School Safety. The portion of Mustang Trail directly behind the Middle School will be closed Monday through Friday from 8am until 3pm. Citizens will still have access to travel on Mustang Trail from Woodford Street to the County Park Road and from Main Street to the Animal Clinic during the time the portion of the road is closed behind the school. Free-Reduced Meals Application Anderson County Schools now offers families the option to fill out a free-reduced meals application online.
